Help Save our California State Parks

KIXE TV is pleased to announce that California Forever is coming to the Cascade Theater Thursday, May 10, 2012 at 4pm and 7pm to promote the local efforts to save our California State Parks.
Tickets will go on sale at the Cascade Theatre box office www.cascadetheatre.org with a 4pm matinee showing and a 7pm evening showing.  Ticket price is $11.50 for adults and $4.50 for student (K-12).
Backcountry Pictures was inspired to make the film California Forever when they read about the proposal to build a six-lane toll road through San Onofre State Beach in Orange County. David Vassar, Co-founder of Backcountry Pictures, pointed out that, “If we are having a “reasonable discussion” about building a freeway through a state park, then there is a serious disconnect.” David thought it was the right time to make a television program that would remind people of the priceless legacy that state parks protect and to celebrate the individual citizens who worked so hard to preserve them.

California Forever features local actor Bob Koroluck as Andrew P. Hill an early conservationist of California’s unique wonders.

The California Forever event is made possible by YOUR Local PBS Station, KIXE TV  Channel 9 and in corporation with the Cascade Theatre, Redding Record Searchlight, KLXR Radio and AAA.
