SERVICE REDUCTIONS ANNOUNCED AT SHASTA AND WEAVERVILLE JOSS HOUSE STATE HISTORIC PARKS

In order to help meet a portion of budget reductions as outlined in AB 95, which was passed by the legislature and signed into law by Governor Edmund G. Brown in March 2011, the following Cascade Sector State Park units will be implementing a Service Reduction Plan.
To achieve the budgeted savings, service reductions will take place at the following parks until further notice:
•    Shasta State Historic Park- The operating hours for the Courthouse Museum at Shasta State Historic Park will be from 10am to 5pm, two days a week, Friday and Sunday. The reduction of hours is effective Monday, September 12, 2011. The grounds of the park will remain open, and brochures are available.  For further information, contact the Courthouse Museum in Shasta at 530-243-8194.
•    Weaverville Joss House State Historic Park- The operating hours for the Joss House Visitor Center at the Weaverville Joss House State Historic Park will be from 10 am to 5pm, two days a week, Thursday and Saturday. Guided tours of the Joss house will be available those days as well, offered on the hour, with the last tour of the day beginning at 4pm. The reduction of hours is effective beginning Monday, September 12, 2011.
