4th of July Events in Redding

Don’t miss one or all of these Northern California 4th of July events for you and your family!

Annual Anderson Explodes! on Saturday July 3rd at the Shasta District Fairgrounds has become a great way to kick off the Independence Day celebration. The annual 4-H and FFA fundraiser BBQ will be held at 4pm at the fairgrounds and features an all-you-can-eat BBQ for $10 and supports all local clubs. The Mosquito Serenade will also be held at the fairgrounds instead of the Anderson River Park and features the Jim Dyar Band playing at 7pm on the Pepsi Stage. The Shasta Raceway Park will also be holding racing of midgets, modifieds, hornets, and street stock. Gates open at 4pm and tickets cost $12 adults, $10 junior/senior/military, $8 children or a $30 family pack. Most importantly DO NOT miss the fireworks show in the grandstands around 10pm after the races. This year’s explosions will be choreographed to patriotic music too!

Make t4thofjuly1.jpghe short drive up to Mt. Shasta to enjoy the largest small town walk in America! The Mt. Shasta 4th of July Fun Run and Walk is a wonderful event for all ages. The celebration features vendors, food, music, and three different races for all age divisions. There will be a 2-mile fun walk in reverse parade fashion where as you walk and enjoy the breathtaking views of Mt. Shasta stop at the food vendors for tasty treats, enjoy a variety of live music, and be amazed by magicians, gymnasts, and other local performing groups. Youth under 18 can also participate in a 2-mile race with medals for top times in each age division. For the more ambitious there is a moderately challenging 5-mile race. A parade will be held around noon in dowfireworksfile01a-01_t160.jpgntown Mt. Shasta with floats and drill teams. Last but not least be sure to come enjoy the Redding Freedom Festival at the Redding Convention Center. Find your favorite spots either at the Convention Center or overlooking the Sacramento River to enjoy this fantastic fireworks show. All Sunday, there will be live entertainment, food, and vendors at the Convention Center available for those who come early to stake out the perfect viewing spot. The fireworks show will begin around 10pm, and if you havent seen it before, it is truly great! While you wait be sure to visit the Turtle Bay Exploration Park, Sundial Bridge, and Sacramento River Trail.
