Redding Chamber Honors Volunteers, Business Leaders and Citizen of the Year

Dave Scott, founding partner of D.H. Scott & Co. in Redding, was named the 2009 Citizen of the Year during the annual Greater Redding Chamber of Commerce Chamberee at the Holiday Inn February 26th..  Scott has served as a director and board member for many organizations in the community.  In 2001 he was Business Person of the Year and in 2008 his CPA firm DH Scott & Company was awarded Redding Business of the Year.  Scott has also received the Chamber’s 1997 Virgil Covington Award, Shasta College Outstanding Alumni in 1996, Outstanding Non-profit Board Member in 1995 and the Shasta Builder’s Exchange’s Building Industry Citizen of the Year.

Businessperson of the Year was awarded to Pat Corey of McHale Sign Co.  Pat is active in Rotary and serves on the Builder Exchange’s Board of Directors.  Pat supports many local organizations, community projects and youth activities.

Shasta.com garnered the Business of the Year.  Established in 1995, the company has eight full-time employees, was the first Internet service provider in Redding to be locally owned and today has offices in Redding and Chico. Shasta.com has supported many community events and organizations over the year.  Some of the list includes Turtle Bay Museum, Kool April Nites, Redding Rodeo, Shasta District Fair,  Asphalt Cowboys, Redding Trade Club, Rotary, Sober Graduation and many others.  We at Shasta.com are proud of this award and would like to thank all of our customers and the community for it’s support.

The 2009 Ambassador of the Year honor went to Missy Patten, owner of Platinum Auto Glass.

Jason Blake, director of sales and marketing at Sign-A-Rama in Redding, was named 2009 Volunteer of the Year.
