Igo Rallies For One Of Its Own

March 6, 2010 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm

Igo Store owner Tom Schlenker has been at the center of the Igo community for many years. The Igo Store is the middle of town, and he has personally been involved with every fundraiser and good cause. Now it is time for Igo to give back for all Tom has done. Tom’s 33-year old daughter, Krista, has been diagnosed with several forms of cancer and the prognosis is not good. Tom needs to get back and forth from Igo to Krista’s home in Colorado to visit and help care for her. Unfortunately, due to the economy airline tickets cost a bundle these days.

The community of Igo is rallying to assist him with travel costs. Local residents have grouped together to organize a fundraising spaghetti dinner this Saturday March 6 from 5 to 8pm at the Igo Inn. The dinner will include homemade spaghetti dinner, an art auction, local craft and book sale, and a no-host bar. Proceeds will go into a travel fund for Schlenker.

Tickets will be available at the door, and you may eat at the Inn or take out. For additional information, contact Annette Vowell at 396-2659
