60th Annual Redding Rodeo – May 15-17, 2008
This year the Redding Rodeo celebrates its 60th
anniversary, and plans three GREAT performance
nights – Thursday, Friday, and Saturday - May 15, 16, and 17. 

The Redding Rodeo is the “Jewel” of the PRCA – the
Professional Rodeo Cowboy’s Association.

This year Redding returns to the official PRCA Tour, and will draw some of the best rodeo athletes from across the nation. Rodeo events include saddle bronc riding, bareback riding, barrel racing, steer wrestling, bull riding, team roping, and tie-down roping.

Clydesdale HorsesThe Budweiser Clydesdales will perform during the Rodeo, and will also appear in the Rodeo Parade through downtown Redding on Saturday Morning, May 17.

Justin Clark and Erik Layton return this year as Bullfighters; they will be joined by Barrelman Crash Cooper to protect those fearless cowboys who venture into Bullriding.

The specialty act this year is John Payne, the One-Arm Bandit. John puts on a spectacular show, cracking his bullwhip with his one-good-arm while controlling his horse with his knees. The one arm bandit will not only stop small herd of buffalo stampeding through the rodeo arena, he will load those buffalo - not into a trailer, but on top of a trailer.

Wayne Brooks returns this year as Arena Announcer; he will be joined by booth announcer Will Rasmussan Rodeo would not be complete without its pageantry. Queens from various other California rodeos will join the Redding Queen, the Redding Rodeo Mounted Flag Corp, and the Senior Women’s, and Junior drill teams for everyone’s enjoyment.
